Taste of Americana

When traveling up to the Grand Canyon, some groups like to stop in Williams, Arizona. This is home to the Grand Canyon Railroad and on historic Route 66.
While there, treat yourself or the group (call ahead for groups) group to a wonderful little lunch stop called the Brown Bag Sandwich Shoppe. Right off the main drag on First Street.
Great freshly made sandwiches on real bread at affordable prices. Served with a friendly smile. Set in a 50′s diner style. Complete with Route 66 memorabilia! Patio dinning is also available.
Just look for the fabulous mural on the side of the building, and stop in. Tell them Mark Anthony sent you! You won’t be disappointed.

When we have a tour to the canyons or off the strip, I always tell my guests to have their camera ready because you just never know what you will see. A trip to the Grand Canyon is not like a trip to the local zoo where everything is predictable and on a time schedule. The wild animals do not make an announcement and there is no sure time to see them.
The wildlife have a schedule all to themselves. They just sneak up and show up!
At the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, your best times are early morning or late afternoon. And you need to be ready. Like this fella. He and a couple of other elk were just forging around in the woods alongside the road.
As always, I warn my guests that they are wild. They may be used to people being around them doens’t mean they will accept you. Especially if there are young ones around. So DO NOT Approach!! Snap the picture and move on…
