Mather Bus Parking

Sometimes, its the little things in life that make it so pleasant. For tour professionals that includes bus parking at Mather Point in the Grand Canyon.
Yes, Bus Parking…. I know, for many it’s not that big of a deal. But for those of us who have to bring our guests up to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, bus parking can make or break a tour.
The last time I was up there, Mather point is our fist stop. From there, I need to give the directions and information on where to find the rest rooms, the shuttle, the walkway and even the canyon.
From the old stop, it was a bit confusing because not everything was in plain view from the bus and you had to drop in one spot and park in another. Now its all there in one stop. You park the bus, point everything out and let them go expierience the Canyon…

This afternoon I opened my email to find a gift. A surprise actually. One of my guests on the last Canyon Tour, took some incredible video and photos of the tour and posted them on YouTube.
You just never know who you have on tour. As in this case, I learned from her YouTube profile that she is a Artists and former Opera singer. The artists part I found out by watching the crowds gather every time she sat down on the edge of a canyon. I first thought by the shear numbers of people, that I lost a guest over the edge and went to see.
But nope, it was her. Sitting on the edge, she would break out the water colors and in mere minutes have a painting of the landscape done. Like it was nothing…. She has included some of them in her videos. I will post the other videos later this month. Or just go to YouTube and watch them for yourself.
