Sheep at the canyon

When at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, I tell my guests to be on the lookout for wild animals.  Mainly the deer and the elk.  At the Grand Canyon Village I tell them to keep a close eye out for the elusive Condor flying around.  But this is what they were met with today at the village.

Some baby big horn sheep had wandered onto the lawn.  Actually the sheep were plentiful today.  The most I have seen at the Grand Canyon.  Guests walking along the trail often stopped to look over the edge at some sheep looking back up at them…

Mather Bus Parking

Sometimes, its the little things in life that make it so pleasant.  For tour professionals that includes bus parking at Mather Point in the Grand Canyon.

Yes, Bus Parking….  I know, for many it’s not that big of a deal.  But for those of us who have to bring our guests up to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, bus parking can make or break a tour.

The last time I was up there, Mather point is our fist stop.  From there, I need to give the directions and information on where to find the rest rooms, the shuttle, the walkway and even the canyon.

From the old stop, it was a bit confusing because not everything was in plain view from the bus and you had to drop in one spot and park in another.  Now its all there in one stop.  You park the bus, point everything out and let them go expierience the Canyon…
